Over the years I have found that one of the challenges in building a successful MLM network marketing business is maintaining consistent growth year after year. It is a big concern for both new network marketers and seasoned veterans alike.

A common situation is where someone I am coaching calls me and complains that their MLM business is not growing as fast as it did previously. Many times their business has not only stopped growing, but it has even started to go backwards. When I look at their business more closely, it almost always comes down to the same problem. The business is not growing because that network marketer is no longer working their business consistently.

The solution to the problem is actually quite simple. That network marketer needs to make a commitment to perform the key activities that lead to business productivity on a daily basis. I help him or her set goals for those daily activities based on their personal business goals and the past results they have achieved.

For example, if a network marketer is concentrating on building their business in their warm market, and many still are, they need to set a goal of contacting a certain number of new people every day and exposing them to their business.

If the networker is using telephone leads to build their business, they need to set a goal of making a certain number of dials each day and diligently following up with every good prospect.

When one of our business partners is trying to re-energize their business, I help them get back on track by setting the goal of creating new online content each day. Whether it be video marketing, article marketing, or one of the other strategies we teach, fresh content on a daily basis is vital.

Why part-time mlm? The current economy has more people than ever looking for additional sources of income. Many folks are choosing to start an mlm network marketing business from home. The overwhelming majority of them start out on a very part-time basis of less than 10 hours per week. Most new networkers are building their business around an already hectic schedule of working a career, raising a family, going to school, and more.

Today’s article outlines the essential tools for success in part-time mlm network marketing. I’ve already covered what to look for when evaluating network marketing companies themselves in previous articles. In addition to selecting the right company, you will also want to be sure the team you work with has these key tools available. With time being a limiting factor, it is important to automate and simplify as much of the business-building process as possible to help ensure maximum success.

The most important tool to have access to, whether you are building your business online or locally, is a proven marketing system that’s easy to follow. Just telling new business partners to make a list of contacts to approach is not a marketing system. An effective marketing system should include multiple methods of finding new prospects, exposing them to the business, following up with them, enrolling them into the business, and helping them duplicate the process.

Part time mlm network marketers do not have time to create tools and systems. The marketing system you use must have a short learning curve, provide new distributor training 24/7, and include access to a successful mentor or coach. Ideally, the mentor should be a full-time networker who is available to help you during both daytime and evening hours.

If you are building your business online, you will need a landing page to capture lead information such as name and email address for relationship-building and follow up. To handle that follow up, you will need an autoresponder with a pre-written series of emails. Even if you do have the skills, you will probably not have the time to create an effective email campaign yourself.

Whether you build your business locally, on the Internet, or both, you will need an easy online enrollment process that the new business partner can complete on their own. Relying on paperwork and fax machines is definitely old-school and too time-consuming.

With just a few key tools and diligent effort, you can build a successful mlm network marketing business on a very part time basis.

Over the years I have found that no matter how good your company is, how good your compensation plan is, how good your product line is, how good your team support is, or how good your business-building system is, there is one other element absolutely necessary for massive success in MLM.

Success in MLM takes commitment!

A nice gentleman called me last week, ready to sign up in the business. He had checked out everything. He was sold on our company, our team, and me. He had his credit card in his hand and wanted the link to my enrollment page. But here’s what really got me. He said he would sign up and give it a try for a month and see what happened.

And you know what, I told him that I would rather he did not join our team…at least right now. That’s right…I turned down an enrollment.

Here’s why. Saying you will give something a try for a short period of time and see what happens is not a good recipe for success. It is definitely not making a commitment. I learned long ago to put the odds of success in my favor…and in the favor of my new business partners by only spending my time mentoring those likely to succeed. That man was setting himself up for failure.

Before you join any MLM, be sure you are ready to make a commitment. Adopt an attitude of “I’ll do whatever it takes to be successful. Just show me what to do.”

Start out with realistic expectations. Understand that MLM is not a get rich quick type of thing. Even though I teach our new business partners how to make money quickly, it does take time to create the long-term residual income that our industry is known for.

It takes commitment to succeed in MLM.
