Many folks are choosing to start an mlm network marketing business from home. The overwhelming majority of them start out on a very part-time basis of less than 10 hours per week. Most new networkers are building their business around an already hectic schedule of working a career, raising a family, going to school, and more.
Today’s article outlines the essential tools for success in part-time mlm network marketing. In addition to selecting the right company, you will also want to be sure the team you work with has these key tools available. Just telling new business partners to make a list of contacts to approach is not a marketing system. Part time mlm network marketers do not have time to create tools and systems. The marketing system you use must have a short learning curve, provide new distributor training 24/7, and include access to a successful mentor or coach. Posted by: | CommentsOver the years I have found that no matter how good your company is, how good your compensation plan is, how good your product line is, how good your team support is, or how good your business-building system is, there is one other element absolutely necessary for massive success in MLM.
Success in MLM takes commitment!
A nice gentleman called me last week, ready to sign up in the business. He had checked out everything. He was sold on our company, our team, and me. He had his credit card in his hand and wanted the link to my enrollment page. But here’s what really got me. He said he would sign up and give it a try for a month and see what happened.
And you know what, I told him that I would rather he did not join our team…at least right now. That’s right…I turned down an enrollment.
Here’s why. Saying you will give something a try for a short period of time and see what happens is not a good recipe for success. It is definitely not making a commitment. I learned long ago to put the odds of success in my favor…and in the favor of my new business partners by only spending my time mentoring those likely to succeed. That man was setting himself up for failure.
Before you join any MLM, be sure you are ready to make a commitment. Adopt an attitude of “I’ll do whatever it takes to be successful. Just show me what to do.”
Start out with realistic expectations. Understand that MLM is not a get rich quick type of thing. Even though I teach our new business partners how to make money quickly, it does take time to create the long-term residual income that our industry is known for.
It takes commitment to succeed in MLM.

I have used them for years and have had great success with them. I have even designed a few myself. The good ones consistently bring excellent results. We encourage all of our team members to use one.

1. Systems that brand the creator. One of the biggest benefits to using an online system is branding YOU. It makes no sense to spend your marketing effort or budget to brand someone else. If the system you are evaluating is not easy to customize so that it brands you, do not use it.
2. Systems tied to a specific opportunity or company. Successful attraction marketing is all about branding you, not your company. If for any reason, you find yourself building a different business in the future, you will want to be able to seamlessly shift all of your marketing effort to that new business. Posted by: | CommentsLeaders and leadership are terms that are bounced around regularly in MLM network marketing. While many in our industry claim to be leaders, very few network marketers have a really clear picture of exactly what defines a leader.
After 20 plus years in the network marketing industry, the last 8 full-time, there is one thing I know for sure. Nothing will impact your success more than the leadership you work with and the system you use to build your business.
Ask any networker, experienced veteran or brand new to the industry, to define leadership and a lot of characteristics will come up…drive, attitude, commitment, vision, organization, accessibility, communication, motivation, knowledge, mentoring, training, etc.
If a new network marketer is going to find a strong leader to work with, they need to have a very clear picture of what they are looking for. Here are the key characteristics every good MLM leader has.
100% commitment to the business and their team. Whether they are in the business full-time or part-time, they show up for every meeting, training, webinar, or event. They never stop learning. They practice what they preach. They are quick to put their own recruiting on hold to help a business partner.
They are self-starters who get things done. Show them what to do and get out of their way. They do not need to be convinced or pushed. They set a goal and claim it. When challenges come up, they find a way around them. They will do whatever it takes to be successful. They never offer excuses.
They are the kind of person others want to be around. Leaders put their ego aside and share everything. They enjoy celebrating the success of others.
Use these characteristics as the benchmark for good leadership in mlm network marketing. Choose carefully and surround yourself with strong leaders.

Skype In MLM
Posted by: | CommentsSkype is a free software you can download to your computer. You can use it to place voice calls, video calls, exchange instant messages, and share files with others around the world who have it installed. The real attraction is that Skype-to-Skype calls are free!
Skype has been around since 2003. It has become very popular with people in MLM network marketing. I have it on my computer. However, I do not use it as a prospecting tool.
Before Skype, many network marketers promoted the concept of using instant message texting systems like MSN, Yahoo, AOL, ICQ, and others as MLM prospecting tools. The idea was to strike up a conversation with people you meet online and try to find common ground and a way to introduce your business opportunity to them. I did have some success doing that. But, I found it very time consuming. Way too much of my time was spent with prospects who did not qualify.
Similar prospecting techniques are now being promoted using Skype. And it’s still easy to spend too much time on tasks that do not produce results.
I prefer to practice attraction marketing and have top-quality prospects reaching out to me on a daily basis. I’ve found it to be much more time-efficient and results in better qualified prospects. And most of the attraction marketing techniques we teach our team are also free or very low cost.
Still, Skype is a powerful tool for building an MLM business. I use it regularly in two different ways.
File Transfer. It is a fast and easy way to exchange files. It’s perfect for videos, images, and other large files. There are no size limits, although larger files take longer to send. It’s much faster than sending an email. And email attachments are becoming very unpopular.
Personal Mentoring and Coaching. I find it to be the ultimate tool for one-on-one coaching. When I can’t be there in person, a video call is the next best thing.

Your Why in MLM
Posted by: | CommentsEveryone who joins an MLM network marketing business does so for a particular reason. My reason was very clear. I call it my WHY. Sure, most people join an mlm to make money. But, the real reason why always goes farther than that.
One of the first things I ask a new business partner to do is to give serious thought to exactly why they joined me in the business. I want them to understand that it’s not just for the money. What are they really looking for the business to do for them? What will the money provide?
Maybe it’s to be home with the kids. Maybe it’s for the new house they’ve been dreaming of. Perhaps it’s the freedom to come and go as they like without answering to a boss. It might be to create a secure retirement.
I ask them to put their Why in writing, tape a copy to their desk where they can see it regularly, and email a copy to me.
Here’s why understanding your Why is so important. You are going to have ups and downs in any business. We all do. I have tough days. And I have easy days. It’s all just part of network marketing.
Some appointments will not show up. People will quit. A new business partner you had high hopes for will turn out to be a whiner and excuse-maker. Products will be on back order. Leads will give bad phone numbers. All kinds of challenges will come your way.
When I have a tough day, I just think about my Why…and it keeps me pushing ahead. Knowing my business partner’s Why, lets me better understand and help them, too. Over the years, I’ve found that those in MLM network marketing who are very successful, always have a very strong Why!
If you haven’t done so yet, give serious thought to your Why. Write it down and share it with your sponsor. When challenges do come up, think of your Why. You’ll find it has a dramatic impact on your success!
