MLM Network Marketing Excuses
Posted by: | CommentsOver the years, I’ve been amazed by the lame excuses that hold people back from the success they could enjoy in MLM network marketing.
When excuses are holding you back in your business, you really have 2 choices…quit the business or overcome the excuse. Assuming you have a big “why” for being in your MLM opportunity, and you are in it for the long haul, it just makes sense to clearly identify any excuse that’s blocking your success and learn how to get past it.
Although I have heard literally hundreds of excuses offered for lack of success in MLM network marketing during my career, all of the excuses revolve around a few basic themes. Here are the most common excuses networkers use and how to overcome each of them.
Time. Networkers complain they don’t have enough time, live in a certain time zone, or work a certain shift. The problem really isn’t lack of time, it’s lack of direction. Start by treating your MLM like a business. Establish a set work schedule, whether it’s 5 hours per week or 20. The only activities that matter in our business are exposing new prospects to the opportunity, following up with them, and enrolling and training them to duplicate the process. Eliminate other activities.
Prospects. The excuses networkers offer include not being able to talk to friends or family about the business, not knowing enough people, getting poor quality leads, or not being good at sales. The number one cause of lack of growth in MLM network marketing is not having enough good people looking at your business each day. There are a variety of ways to generate excellent prospects, both online and locally. Every networking company and team offers training on prospecting. Learn it.
Sponsor. The frequent excuses are that a sponsor left the business, the sponsor doesn’t know what he or she is doing, or that there are no leaders in a local area. Make it your responsibility to learn the business. Learn to be a leader. Many top income earners in our industry were orphaned years ago. Reach up-line for help. Reach cross-line for help. One of the best things about networking is the willingness to share with others. Ask for help.
Downline. The usual excuse is that the downline is not productive. Face it, some people will quit, many will never do any work, some won’t return your phone calls. When team members offer these excuses, my suggestion is always the same…enroll more new business partners and help them be successful. Focus on the winners on your team. Never waste time or fret over the losers.
Economy. This is probably the weakest excuse of all. Fact is, the down economy of the last few years has actually been a blessing for our industry. More top-quality people than ever are looking for another source of income. Take advantage of the fact that it presents an opportunity to recruit up to better prospects, and that nothing will grow your business faster than recruiting up.
If you are not having the success you were hoping for as a networker, take an honest, objective look at yourself. If excuses are holding you back, identify them and take the necessary action to overcome them. Don’t let excuses block your success in MLM network marketing.

In our initial mlm training, we teach our team to sell the service and build a strong customer base. However, earning points from your own purchases is another great reward.
Develop your own personal story and credibility. Prospects and new business partners alike will look to you for an example of what to do. It will be very difficult to expect them to use your product or service if you don’t use it yourself. Plus, having personal stories of experiences you have had with your product or service make great recruiting presentations.
Build your network marketing business the right way. The initial step in your MLM training should be to become your own first mlm customer.

How To Get More Support From Your MLM Sponsor

Over the years I have found that choosing the right mlm sponsor is a more important decision than even the choice of the business itself. Equally important to choosing the right sponsor is building a relationship with him or her and earning as much of the sponsor’s time and support as possible.
One of the challenges for all leaders in our industry is knowing which team members to spend their time with. Identifying the right business partners will cut down on wasted time and lead to better duplication of the team’s system and an increase in overall business volume.
Here are the qualities we teach our business partners to look for that indicate that a team member is worthy of more of your time. You can use these as a guideline to help earn more of your sponsor’s time.
Show yourself to be a motivated leader or future leader from day one in your new business.
Complete each step of your new business partner training and report your progress to your sponsor.
Show yourself to be a self-starter who does not require a lot of hand-holding.
Develop clear goals and share them with your sponsor.
Show a desire to do whatever it takes to be successful in network marketing.
Try to solve problems or answer questions yourself before asking for help.
Demonstrate that you are coachable by following the team’s system.
Enroll new business partners on a regular basis
Attend all training webinars, conference calls, and events.
And most importantly, ask for help when you really need it.
A good sponsor wants to help you succeed. Take the time to learn how to earn more support from your sponsor. Those who work closely with a good mlm sponsor have a far greater chance of huge success in mlm network marketing.

Recruiting or sponsoring new people into your business and then helping them duplicate the process is what creates a large organization and large residual income checks.
Most networkers still go at mlm sponsoring all wrong. They try to sell people on their opportunity, even if they are not interested. They overwhelm their prospects with way too much information. Is Your MLM A Secret?
Posted by: | CommentsOver the years I have watched a large number of people in the MLM network marketing industry fail to have the recruiting and sponsoring success they had hoped for simply because they did not do the simple things to promote their business.
They spent a small fortune on generic websites, voice mail boxes with 800 numbers, autoresponder systems, and other online tools that were supposed to take care of building their mlm. They spent countless hours each week updating one or more social media sites. Like clockwork they attended every conference call or training webinar available.
But they failed to do the easy, and in most cases very inexpensive things they could do to expose the people they already knew or came in contact with on a regular basis to their opportunity. They avoided anything that might result in face to face contact with a prospect. In fact, in many cases, it was almost like they were keeping their MLM a secret!
While our team specializes in using the Internet to build the business, there are a number of simple and low-cost marketing techniques we teach our team to use in their local market. These are so effective that they are part of our initial training for new business partners. They can bring immediate results to new team members while they are learning to master the Internet.
Here are some of the local marketing techniques that are often overlooked.
Send a personal letter to friends and family. Let them know you have started a new business. Invite them to look at your website. Ask for their feedback and any suggestions on who you might be able to help with it.
Add a signature file to the bottom of every email you send. Keep it brief. Include your website. Most email programs will do this automatically for you.
Put your website address on your cars. Check both online sources and at your local print shop. Vinyl lettering is very inexpensive.
Drop cards, sometimes called sizzle cards, are a brief classified ad placed on a business card. Drop cards are very low-cost. There are a number of online companies where you can design your own card. Look for places to leave drop cards as you go about your daily routine. Include one in all outgoing mail.
Take advantage of the many simple, low cost ways to promote your business. Recruiting and sponsoring will be much more effective if you stop keeping your MLM a secret!

A common situation is where someone I am coaching calls me and complains that their MLM business is not growing as fast as it did previously. Many times their business has not only stopped growing, but it has even started to go backwards. When I look at their business more closely, it almost always comes down to the same problem. The business is not growing because that network marketer is no longer working their business consistently.
The solution to the problem is actually quite simple. That network marketer needs to make a commitment to perform the key activities that lead to business productivity on a daily basis. I help him or her set goals for those daily activities based on their personal business goals and the past results they have achieved.
For example, if a network marketer is concentrating on building their business in their warm market, and many still are, they need to set a goal of contacting a certain number of new people every day and exposing them to their business.
If the networker is using telephone leads to build their business, they need to set a goal of making a certain number of dials each day and diligently following up with every good prospect.
Our team focuses on building the business online. When one of our business partners is trying to re-energize their business, I help them get back on track by setting the goal of creating new online content each day. Over the years I have had tremendous success with my MLM business in the last two weeks of December. Even though I never have my largest number of enrollments during that time period, the actions I take then always have a major impact on the enrollments I do get in January. As a result, January is always one of the strongest months of the year for me.
A large number of people in the mlm network marketing industry take the end of the year off from their business to celebrate the holidays. We teach our team to take advantage of this fact and keep promoting our business just as we do during the rest of the year.
Building your business on the Internet makes it easy to do that, even during a hectic holiday schedule. Online marketing methods are much less time-consuming and do not require working your business around other people’s schedules. If you are not building your business on the Internet, now is the time to learn to do so. Take advantage of one of the many good sources of online mlm training.
Especially with the economy we have experienced over the last couple of years, many excellent prospects are looking for a replacement or additional source of income, even during the holiday period.
