Posted by: | CommentsI joined a gym the other day. It’s not that I’m out of shape for a 50 something guy. In fact, I still ski 6 days a week in the winter. But, I knew I wanted better health and fitness and I made the decision to do something about it. At that time, I had no idea how going to the gym would be so similar to building my mlm business!
I started by doing some research. I studied gyms and health clubs in the area. I decided to take a closer look at a fitness center a few miles from home. They gave me a tour of their facilities and explained the benefits of each machine. They outlined the training system that I would follow and the results to expect. I met the lady who would be my personal mentor. I was sold. I signed up and paid the membership fee.
Signing up was the easy part! My training would start at 6am the next day. Looking back, the whole process was very similar to the business presentation I do every day in my mlm business.
I showed up at 6 the next morning ready to take on the world. My mentor was there. She’s about my age and obviously very fit. Together, we set clear goals and expectations and outlined the schedule I would keep. She coached me through my routine on each machine. I followed her training exactly. It was hard work. But I was committed. I knew I could do it.
The next day was a little easier and I could feel results. The day after that, even easier yet and the results were more evident. It was obvious their system works. That’s when it really struck me. Building an mlm is just like going to the gym!
Pick a good company and mentor. Follow the training system. Be coachable. Then work your tail off. Just like going to the gym, if you do all of the right things, you will get the results you want in your mlm business.

How To Succeed At MLM Part Time

Most people are looking for something they can do around the time constraints of a career, school, or raising a family. Many times, new team members do have the goal of replacing their job and going full time in the business when they reach a certain income goal.
One of the most common questions prospects ask me is how much time it takes to be successful in my network marketing business.
I have helped many new networkers build their mlm business on a very part-time basis. Here are the four keys to part time success in mlm with the goals of making money the first week and quickly growing from there. With consistent effort, success can be achieved in as little as 5 to 7 hours per week. Of course, committing additional time to the business can produce even greater results.
Company. You must join a company with a high-demand product that requires no explaining or selling. The company’s compensation plan must provide for substantial immediate income. It must be a true online business for maximum time-efficiency.
Sponsor. You need to choose your sponsor carefully. This has more bearing on your success than anything else…even your choice of the company! You need an experienced, full-time sponsor with a proven system, training, and tools to automate the business-building process. Find a sponsor who will close your prospects for you.
Goals. You must have clear goals and a strong reason why you are in your home business. This will keep you focused and in the game even on days you don’t feel like working your business.
You. You must be 100% committed to your business. You must be coachable and willing to follow a system. Even though you are only working a few hours per week, you need to lock in a work schedule. If you have a family, they must be supportive. You need to learn to devote your time to only the tasks that produce results.
In conclusion, if you have the right company, sponsor, and goals and you apply diligent efficient effort, you can be very successful in mlm network marketing on a very part-time basis.

It took outgoing personalities with a large personal Rolodex or the ability to effectively cold-call strangers or get prospects to opportunity meetings to have real success in the industry.
Now, thanks largely to the Internet, all of that has changed. With the right MLM training and systems, even shy, quiet people can be very successful in mlm. The Internet levels the playing field so that anyone can effectively brand themselves as a leader and the kind of sponsor people are looking for.
Here are four training tips to make mlm easy for shy people:
Start a personal blog. It’s a great way to tell your story to the world and brand yourself as an online mlm expert. Use your blog to deliver content of real value. Help others succeed in mlm without expecting something in return.
Use an online attraction marketing system to bring top-quality prospects to you rather than you chasing them. It’s far easier to follow up and enroll a prospect who has sought you out.

Posted by: | CommentsToday’s MLM training tip focuses on offline prospecting and sponsoring. Even though we specialize in building our business on the Internet, we still train our team on simple ways of effectively prospecting people they know or come in contact with locally.
Frequently, one of the first times new network marketers struggle is when someone asks them about their new business. And it’s a shame because this is an ideal person for the new marketer to introduce their mlm business to, if they are properly prepared.
The secret is for network marketers to master what I call the “Elevator Speech”. The “Elevator Speech” is the 60 second reply to the question, “What do you do?” It can be used on friends and strangers alike.
We train our team to master it as part of their initial training, so they never get caught struggling with how to respond to questions about what they do. We find that once networkers master it, they will find themselves looking for ways to get people to ask “What do you do?”!
As an example…here’s an “Elevator Speech” that can be used in prospecting for almost any mlm business:
“You know how every time you turn on the news or read the newspaper, there’s a story about the economy and people losing their jobs, retired folks having trouble making ends meet, and everyday Americans not enjoying the lifestyle they dream of?
We found a way to solve that problem. I’ve helped people all over the country, and the cool thing is the Internet system does all the work.
Does this sound like something you’d like to learn more about?”
It’s that simple. Get the “Elevator Speech” in your own words and memorize it. Practice it until you can recite it in your sleep so you never get caught off guard again.

The prospecting masters in the industry follow a carefully organized presentation that delivers important information to the prospect in a deliberate sequence.
Especially among new network marketers, there are two common mistakes made in delivering information while prospecting.
One is giving the prospect more information than is necessary for them to make a sound decision. This almost always delays the decision to join your business, and frequently results in the prospect deciding not to.
The other common mistake is giving the prospect certain information before it is necessary for them to have it. It is important to not give prospects the name of your company until you have established a relationship and shown yourself as the leader who can help them reach their goals.
As soon as you reveal the name of your company, the prospect will go to the Internet and Google it. No matter what the company, someone will always have something negative to say about it. Whether their comments are factual or not, prospects will look at you and your company differently and you may never hear from them again.
Also, once your prospect knows the name of your company, they will look for someone more successful than you to enroll under. It happens all the time, no matter how successful you are!
It’s important to remember that the right kind of people will enroll with you because of you and your system. The company, its products and compensation plan really don’t matter nearly as much.
People contact me daily wanting to join my business…without even knowing the name of my company, just because of our team’s system and because I have branded ME. Your system should brand YOU.

How To Increase MLM Retention

A sad fact about our industry is that on average, three out of four new distributors stall out in their first 90 days and quit the business. A staggering 90% of new business partners do not make it through their first year!
This leads to a major drain on your income because retention is where the long-term residual income in the MLM network marketing industry comes from. The good news is that even a modest increase in your retention rate can lead to a dramatic increase in your income.
It is important to note that of those who do quit, better than half of them do so in the first 90 days in business. This is why it is so important to start new team members the right way on day one and help them have success in their early days in business.
For many years, I focused on prospecting and sponsoring, and became known as a top enroller in the MLM network marketing industry. But, for the last several years, I focused more on retention. I found the results to be almost immediate and long-lasting, too. Increasing retention has had a greater impact on increasing my monthly check than the number of new people I recruit each month.
Much of our team training now focuses on retention. Here are the keys to increasing retention in your MLM.
1. Enroll the right people the right way. We teach our team to enroll prospects that ask to join the business. We do not teach our team to use warm-market tactics like pitching friends, neighbors, and relatives who are not even interested in the business. We do not teach our team to sell or close prospects on the business. When you have to close people to get them in, you’ll have to close them every time they hit a small obstacle. They are the first ones to become quitters.
2. Have new team members define their personal goals on their first day. Make sure their goals are realistic. Both you and your new business partner will need these goals to measure their success. Each team member’s success is measured against their own goals.
3. Get new team members off to a fast start. New team members need to make money early in their career for both their belief in the business and for credibility with others. Nothing helps retention more than making money quickly!
4. Be a true servant-leader. Helping a new team member is more important than even your own prospecting. Live up to your commitment to be available for your new business partner. Make it easy for business partners to reach your upline in your absence.
5. Effective and regular communication. Provide essential information, without flooding new partners with information overload. Regular emails from an autoresponder have proven to be an effective way to keep partners in the game and help them get back in the game if they’ve become sidetracked.
6. Recognition. For many people, recognition is an even bigger motivator than money. Recognition can be as simple as a personal email or phone call. For some, edification in front of a group can bring huge rewards. Look for ways to recognize even the smaller accomplishments.
7. Training. Effective training should be available by several means, both live and recorded. We’ve had best success offering training via a mix of live webinars, recorded webinars for playback at the team member’s convenience, training videos, email series, and personal one-on-one coaching.
Shift more of your focus to retention in your MLM network marketing business. It will lead to a big increase in your long-term residual income.

This MLM sponsoring tip shocked me when I first heard it years ago. Now following it is one of the main reasons for our success. And it really is true, because how many team members you help succeed is what really counts!
Retention is one of the major keys to true success in our industry. For years, the number of people who drop out has been way too high.
I’ve seen countless examples of mlm sponsoring superstars making only modest checks due to poor retention. They have as many team members quitting each month as new recruits joining.
Maximizing retention starts before you even enroll a prospect. If you don’t enroll the right prospect, the right way, your chances of retaining him or her are doomed. Not understanding this concept is a major cause of many people failing in our industry.
If you have to “close” a prospect to get them into your business, you will likely have to close them again every time they hit a small bump in the road. Those people are usually the first ones to become whiners and quitters.
For several years, we have taught our team to only enroll prospects that close themselves. We teach a system that gets the right people to pick up the phone and call…asking to join the business.
Our team members have actually built a relationship with their new business partner before enrolling him or her. Then, it’s just a matter of building on that relationship, helping the new person succeed, and teaching them to repeat the process.
Stop making mlm sponsoring your main focus. Sure, it’s important. You’ll always need a steady flow of new business partners. But, you will build a far stronger business by focusing on helping each of your team members be successful.

Old-school network marketers spend their time approaching their warm market of friends, neighbors, and relatives. The time you spend with them is totally wasted!
The right kind of person for our industry is someone who is actively looking for an opportunity. They need to be motivated, goal-oriented, and coachable. Become good at attraction marketing, and top-quality prospects will be calling you daily, asking to join your business.
After you enroll a new business partner, it’s important to get them started correctly from day one. The longer it takes a new business partner to get into action, the greater their chances of failure.
You need a good online mlm training system that is followed by everyone on your team. Start new business partners with clear expectations and a path to follow. That way, even someone with a less experienced sponsor can be successful, too.
I like to encourage new team members to call me as they complete each step in our online mlm training system, as well as any time they need help. Those are the ones I spend my time with. Over the years, I have found that the people who have called me the most have turned out to be the most successful.
Be sure you have a follow-up system with an autoresponder that emails new business partners regularly to keep them in the game. This is also a great way to make it easy for someone to get back in the game if they’ve been sidetracked and been away from the business.
When whiners, excuse-makers, and other negative people come to the surface, make it clear you do not have time for them. Explain that you only spend your time with winners. Invite them to change their mindset. Encourage them to get in the game and refer them back to your online mlm training system.

Eliminate MLM Rejection
Posted by: | CommentsTraditionally, one of the biggest obstacles to success for new people in MLM network marketing has been rejection. It seems to take the biggest toll when someone is brand new in their business and their enthusiasm is at its highest.
Rejection can come in many forms ranging from a polite “no, but thanks for sharing it with me” to outright rude, insulting, or sometimes even vulgar. Unfortunately, rejection from the people we know and love the most can sometimes be the most hurtful, even though that is usually not their intention.
Nobody likes rejection. Some can take more than others. Everyone has a limit. Rejection has caused many people to quit their new business before they’ve even given it a fair shot.
Typically, new networkers have been taught old-school methods like:
Make a list of 100 friends, neighbors, and relatives to approach.
Call in a favor or two.
Purchase opportunity seeker leads.
Host home parties.
It’s no wonder they suffer so much rejection. They are talking to the wrong people…people who for the most part, are not the least bit interested!
Making the situation even worse, their sponsors have given them bogus advice like:
You just need to talk to more people.
Work through the rejection.
Every ‘no’ you get means you’re closer to a ‘yes.’
No wonder so many give up in our industry.
The good news is that you can build a successful MLM network marketing business without dealing with rejection. And thanks to the Internet, you can do it mostly for free!
The key is to promote yourself, rather than your business. We call it attraction marketing. With the right system, you can brand yourself as a leader and expert in the MLM industry. Using the Internet, you can quickly get enough exposure so that prospects interested in and actively searching for a networking opportunity will be contacting you, rather than you chasing them.
With this approach you can eliminate rejection in your MLM network marketing efforts.
